Yoga therapy
In addition to conventional counselling and psychotherapy, we are pleased to now be able to offer yoga therapy.
The word Yoga means "Union".
The
purpose of yoga is to connect the body and the mind using the breath
as the bridge between the two.
It is a powerful tool for transformation which can be taught to anyone, with any health condition, at any age.
A typical session can be one to one or in small groups. It combines an assessment of a clients posture, breathing patterns, sleep patterns, energy levels, stress levels, strength, flexibility, mental and emotional health. We then work through a series of postures and breathing exercises which are tailor-made for the student. The therapist often uses guided relaxation and practical mindfulness or meditation techniques.
Yoga is about making what you do on the mat improve your life off the mat. Each student comes away with a practical, comprehensive programme which is immediately applicable to everyday life situations. You can think of yoga as a pension for your long-term health and vitality.
